Implement all commodities purchasing procedures, and sourcing of spare parts both locally and overseas.
Ensure all consignments and services purchased are to the company standards and specifications.
Through regular liaison with department heads to ensure that sufficient spare parts and raw materials are purchased available to meet operational requirements.
Regular appraise performance of overseas suppliers to ensure that agreed service levels are maintained and that prices paid are the most competitive.
Maintain quality records of all dealings with suppliers and potential suppliers, their consignments and prices.
Ensure that a reliable supplier base is put in place and maintain all staffs are brief on suppliers’ performance
Investigate opportunities with the current or new suppliers for competitive prices on an ongoing basis and report progress to management on regular basis.
Further develop the company inventory and purchasing systems through liaison with Finance Manager.

SHIIPING
Coordinate with overseas suppliers at first to confirm time and availability of consignments as being ready for dispatch from inbound.
Clearing agents to prepare custom documentation, airport or sea port charges to be paid. Invoices for freight, clearing agents and transport companies are verified for payments.
Prepare overseas invoices for costing into local rates and also prepare cargo reports.
Liaise with shipping agents on custom duties, tariff classification on procedures, documentations, insurance and bills of lading.
Arrange uplift of imports and exports consignments, liaising with hire truckers on the best freight charges agreed upon.
Knowledge and experience in international freight and shipping.

PROCUREMENT / LOGISTICS

Provide assistance and guidance on the procurement strategy to all sections, ensuring adherence to the rules and procedures of the company in collaboration.
Organize procurement rules and procedures and make recommendations for changes and/or amendments, as appropriate.
Monitor on a continuous basis procurement actions entered into by the services, particularly with regard to correct implementation of procedures, timely and appropriate execution and, in collaboration with the relevant operation, technical services, evaluate contractors, suppliers performance and ensure appropriate records are maintained.
Elaborate proposals, provide advice and recommendations on and contribute to the formation of the company’s policies and practices on insurance coverage’s in general and personal effects.
Maintaining stock valued at $2.7 million.
Liaise with freight agent for clearing consignments as well as custom department for clearance of consignments by sea – this includes custom documentation, wharf charges and delivery of consignment plus transportation.
Validation of stock recording, stores issues, credits, local and overseas stock, direct and stock invoices.
Stocktaking and diagnose irregularities.
Receive, review and process overseas quotation submitted by suppliers
Provide technical assistance regarding local procurement laws, rules and procedures
Ensure that all stocktaking and inventory control activities are undertaken in safe and efficient manner.
Proper storage of refined oil and gas into shore tanks and gas spheres for local consumption.
Accurate inventory control, database system and records need to be maintained as does an efficient distribution system throughout the multi-site organization.
